Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to join our Labor & Delivery team on the night shift. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced L&D RN who thrives in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and is ready to serve as the go-to clinical leader during overnight operations.

The CNC supports patient-centered care and oversees the coordination of all departmental functions during their shift. As a frontline leader, you will model excellence in clinical practice, provide real-time support to staff, and play a key role in enhancing both patient outcomes and staff engagement. This role acts as both Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager overnight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow

  • Provide real-time clinical guidance and support to staff during night shifts

  • Monitor and evaluate patient care delivery in alignment with policies and quality standards

  • Act as a key resource for staff, physicians, and patients overnight

  • Assist in staff scheduling, resource management, and shift coordination

  • Lead service recovery efforts and support a patient-first culture

  • Participate in new staff training, development, and performance evaluations

  • Scrub in and assist in OR as needed; must be capable of supporting deliveries

  • Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes


Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

  • Current RN license (Texas or Compact)

  • BLS required within 30 days of start; ACLS required within 1 year

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an L&D RN

  • Previous leadership experience in Women’s Services, L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby units required

  • Must be comfortable serving as charge nurse overnight and able to scrub in for OR procedures and assist with deliveries
