Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing for Labor & Delivery to lead a high-performing team at a respected hospital. In this 24/7 leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across a 40–50 bed unit with over 140 staff members. This is a career-defining opportunity for a confident L&D nursing leader ready to build strong teams, foster accountability, and drive measurable results in both patient and staff satisfaction.
Reporting to the Senior Director or CNO, you’ll act as a liaison between physicians and clinical teams, manage unit operations, and spearhead quality and process improvement initiatives. We’re looking for a leader who can engage, mentor, and elevate a team—while setting the tone for exceptional care in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership across all L&D unit functions

Direct, coordinate, and delegate patient care activities throughout the hospitalization process

Manage staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, and compliance efforts

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery

Develop and mentor team members for professional growth and high engagement

Assess and implement performance improvement strategies

Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and collaboration

Foster strong employee engagement while maintaining high patient satisfaction
Qualifications

BSN required
-
Current RN license
-
Minimum 5 years of L&D clinical experience in an acute care setting – required

Minimum 2 years of L&D leadership/management experience in an acute care setting – required

Proven ability to lead large teams and manage complex, high-volume departments

Strong communication and leadership skills with a results-driven mindset

Must demonstrate experience in improving patient outcomes and employee engagement

Familiarity with Studer principles and a coaching leadership style is a strong plus
