  • We are seeking a seasoned NICU Director (Level III) to lead the clinical and operational performance of our high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role requires a dynamic and compassionate nursing leader to oversee all aspects of a Level III NICU, including staffing, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and patient outcomes.

    The ideal candidate brings both strategic vision and hands-on experience in managing complex neonatal care settings, fostering excellence in clinical practice, team collaboration, and family-centered care.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide 24/7 leadership for the NICU team, ensuring safe, high-quality, and developmentally appropriate neonatal care

    • Oversee daily operations, clinical practice, staffing, and unit performance metrics

    • Implement evidence-based protocols to drive patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and quality outcomes

    • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, state/federal requirements)

    • Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, and interdisciplinary teams

    • Lead performance improvement, staff education, and retention initiatives

    • Monitor budgets, resource utilization, and patient throughput strategies

    • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassionate family support


    Qualifications

    • Current RN license in the state of practice (or active compact license)

    • BSN required, Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred

    • BLS required; NRP certification required

    • 3–5 years of NICU leadership experience in a Level III or IV setting strongly preferred

    • Deep understanding of neonatal clinical protocols, equipment, and staff competencies

    • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment
