Overview:
Our client, a leading hospital system in Las Cruces, NM, is seeking a Director of Case Management to lead and oversee all aspects of the Case Management department. This high-impact leadership role is ideal for a results-driven RN with a strong background in utilization review, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
As Director, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance, driving financial performance, supporting team development, and fostering a patient-centered care environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping policies, optimizing workflows, and contributing to long-term departmental and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the strategic and operational functions of the Case Management department

Oversee case management, utilization review, and discharge planning processes

Ensure departmental compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards

Develop and implement performance improvement and cost-management initiatives

Monitor quality metrics and patient outcomes to drive evidence-based improvements

Recruit, train, and retain staff while promoting engagement and professional growth

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative leadership across departments

Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to patient care coordination

Flexibility to support hospital operations during holidays, weekends, and extended hours as needed
Qualifications:

Education:
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Management preferred

Experience:
-
Minimum of 10 years’ nursing experience
-
At least 3 years of case management and utilization review experience

Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting

Case Management certification preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state

Current BLS certification required
