Overview:

Our client, a leading hospital system in Las Cruces, NM, is seeking a Director of Case Management to lead and oversee all aspects of the Case Management department. This high-impact leadership role is ideal for a results-driven RN with a strong background in utilization review, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

As Director, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance, driving financial performance, supporting team development, and fostering a patient-centered care environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping policies, optimizing workflows, and contributing to long-term departmental and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the strategic and operational functions of the Case Management department

• Oversee case management, utilization review, and discharge planning processes

• Ensure departmental compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards

• Develop and implement performance improvement and cost-management initiatives

• Monitor quality metrics and patient outcomes to drive evidence-based improvements

• Recruit, train, and retain staff while promoting engagement and professional growth

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative leadership across departments

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to patient care coordination

• Flexibility to support hospital operations during holidays, weekends, and extended hours as needed

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Management preferred

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ nursing experience

  • At least 3 years of case management and utilization review experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting

  • Case Management certification preferred

• Licensure/Certifications:

  • Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state

  • Current BLS certification required
