Position Summary
Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a highly motivated Director of Pediatrics to lead and oversee the daily operations and clinical strategy of the pediatric unit(s). This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration across departments.
The Director will lead departmental planning, staffing, and budget management efforts while ensuring adherence to clinical and regulatory standards. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned leader with a passion for pediatric care, team development, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of safe, effective, high-quality care by implementing evidence-based practices and maintaining adherence to clinical standards.

Oversee daily operations and staffing for the pediatric unit(s); ensure alignment with facility objectives and regulatory requirements.

Lead patient throughput strategies, including admission, discharge planning, and patient flow coordination.

Monitor and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and resource planning.

Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Stay current on legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards; ensure full departmental compliance.

Direct the development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and care standards.

Support initiatives to improve patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.

Serve as a leader and mentor to unit staff, promoting ongoing education and professional development.
Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State-specific)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AHA

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required

Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred

Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare

Minimum 3 years in a Director-level leadership role within Pediatrics (required)

Demonstrated knowledge of hospital operations, pediatric best practices, and regulatory compliance
