Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Labor & Delivery Unit at a respected healthcare facility. This leadership role is focused on ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through the effective management of clinical staff, workflow, and patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings a strong clinical background in L&D and the leadership skills to foster accountability, drive quality initiatives, and maintain a supportive, high-performing team environment. You’ll play a critical role in advancing patient safety, satisfaction, and operational efficiency through evidence-based practices and collaborative care models.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing, patient throughput, admissions/discharges, and interdisciplinary coordination

  • Ensure adherence to clinical and regulatory standards across the L&D department

  • Monitor nursing care delivery and hold teams accountable to quality outcomes

  • Promote evidence-based practices and reduce variation in clinical care

  • Implement performance improvement initiatives aligned with facility goals

  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, equipment standards, and accreditation benchmarks

  • Champion a positive, patient-focused culture and elevate service delivery

  • Analyze feedback and patient experience data to drive enhancements in care

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure optimal staffing and patient care outcomes


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Master’s degree (MSN or healthcare leadership) preferred

  • Current RN license (or active compact license) in accordance with state regulations

  • Specialty certification in L&D to be obtained within 6 months of hire

  • Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare experience

  • At least 1 year of L&D supervisory/leadership experience required

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to lead quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
