Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Manager for our Mother/Baby Care Unit to lead postpartum and newborn care operations in a high-acuity acute care setting. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to shape a culture of excellence and accountability, oversee staff performance, and enhance both patient safety and satisfaction.

As Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for clinical oversight, staffing, budgeting, physician collaboration, and compliance—while building a supportive and high-performing unit. This is a great opportunity for a strong L&D/postpartum RN leader to grow in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and clinical quality in the Mother/Baby and Nursery units

  • Serve as a liaison to foster collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

  • Implement women’s health–specific initiatives and drive process improvement projects

  • Manage staff engagement, training, scheduling, and development

  • Coordinate budget, capital planning, payroll, and personnel decisions

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ANA nursing guidelines

  • Promote developmental and age-specific patient-centered care

  • Participate in strategic planning and execution of departmental goals

  • Represent the unit across hospital, community, and partner institutions


Qualifications

  • BSN required; advanced degree preferred

  • Current RN license in Texas or compact license

  • Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) and NRP certification required

  • Minimum 5 years of acute care leadership experience in a Mother/Baby or postpartum unit

    • Open to 2+ years if candidate has strong supervisor-level experience and proven results in engagement and process improvement

  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills

  • Experience managing both clinical operations and strategic initiatives
