PSYCHOLOGY ASSISTANT

This Psychology Assistant opportunity is a two year training position under the direction of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist. The successful candidate will undertake and perform the requirements of a program of learning and experience that will include placement learning, psychological assessments, clinical experience and research (as required).

Key responsibilities include:

• providing clinical observation of identified clients.
• engaging in supervised psychological testing/assessment as appropriate by level of education attained.
• engaging in supervised individual and group therapy as appropriate by level of education attained.
• providing clinical reports as appropriate by level of education attained.
• participation in Multidisciplinary team meetings.
• performing other duties as may be negotiated by the Psychology Professional Practice Lead

Qualifications & Registration required:

• Completion of Master’s Degree in an applied Psychology program, or enrolled in an approved Doctoral Degree program in Clinical or Counselling Psychology in which a supervised internship is required
• 2 years’ work experience preferably in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of basic statistical procedures utilized within the field of psychology
• Familiar with appropriate psychological measures and assessments, expected at the degree level attained
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels of staff, residents, service users and relatives
• Possess a high degree of computer literacy (eg. MS Office Suites).  AS400 knowledge an asset
• Maintain current CPR and NCI certification through the Bermuda Hospitals Board
