The Role
You will play a key role in delivering high quality diagnostic imaging services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing examination rooms and ultrasound equipment in accordance with infection control, sterilisation and patient safety protocols
• Taking full responsibility for patient safety during sonography examinations
• Reviewing patient medical history and relevant clinical information
• Ensuring examination requests meet medical necessity standards
• Identifying contraindications, insufficient preparation or any patient limitations relating to procedures
This is a patient focused position requiring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills and sound clinical judgement.
Qualifications and Registration
Applicants must hold:
• An undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution
• Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS or equivalent
• Certification in one or more recognised modalities
Recognised certification areas include:
• Abdomen
• OB GYN
• Adult Echo
• Vascular
• Breast
• Musculoskeletal
• Paediatric Echo
• Fetal Echo
• Paediatric Sonography
Experience and Salary Levels
Level 1 Sonographer: Salary from 99k USD per annum.
Zero to two years post graduate experience
Minimum certification in Abdomen, OB GYN or Adult Echo
Level 2 Sonographer: Salary from 110k USD per annum.
Two or more years post graduate experience
Certification in one or more of Abdomen, OB GYN or Adult Echo
Level 3 Sonographer
Salary from 119k USD per annum
Advanced certification in addition to core modalities, including areas such as Vascular, Breast, Musculoskeletal, Paediatric Echo or Fetal Echo
Working Pattern
• 35 hour working week
• Required to participate in shift coverage
