Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensure optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Explain procedures and provide reassurance to patients, ensuring a comfortable experience.
  • Position patients appropriately to obtain accurate and clear images.
  • Maintain and calibrate mammography equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with advancements in mammography technology and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (RT) with specialization in Mammography (ARRT-M) or equivalent certification.
  • Has or willing to obtain relevant licensure with Bermuda Hospital Board
  • Proven experience in performing mammographic imaging.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and breast imaging techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • 2 + years recent post graduate experience as a Mammographer
  • Applicable Mammography certifications from an accredited institution (based on jurisdiction)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Assesses client/patient and family needs, formulates care plan in accordance established nursing diagnoses, executes interventions and evaluates outcomes.
  • Initiates and participates in patient care conferences.

Qualifications &/ Registration required:

  • Minimum of four years post graduate nursing experience as a maternal nurse.
  • Current certifications:  CPR, NRP, PALS, I.V. Electronic fetal monitoring and Manages epidural in Labor & Delivery.
  • Experience in Physical assessment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
